Welcome to theARA.org, the online voice of the Annex Residents' Association. For over 80 years the ARA has been serving the people of the Annex.  As a volunteer organization, we encourage your participation and support. The Mission Statement of the Association summarizes our purpose:

"The ARA is a volunteer organization of residents committed to improving and preserving the distinctive character of our neighbourhood. Our strength depends on our base of support in a well-informed community."

The board of Directors has tried to be mindful of the dual jobs of "preserving the distinctive character of our neighbourhood" and creating a "well-informed community".  We try to keep on top of any and all issues that might have an impact on our neighbourhood, and we do our best to keep you informed of these issues as they arise. But however hard we work at these jobs, it must be kept in mind that our "strength" comes from you, our "base of support".  We need you, not only as a member of the ARA but also as an active, caring neighbour interested in maintaining the quality of life that all of us who live in the Annex enjoy.  Given the amount of development activity taking place in our neighbourhood, chances are pretty good that there is something happening right now very close to you that will  mark a change.  Find out what it is!  Become involved in the change that is happening around you and help to ensure that the change is for the good of us all.  You can become a member of the ARA by filling out and submitting a Membership Form.  Board meetings are open to the public and are held on the second Thursday of every month (excluding July) at 7:30  at the Annex Retirement Residence, 123 Spadina Road.  Come, join us!
